The road from the Czech Republic to Croatia is widely used today, thanks to which there is also a large offer of transport connections with favorable prices.

By car

Carpooling

Carpooling portals can also offer cheap travel. Usually there is also a driver evaluation, which you can go through in advance. The price of the route Prague – Pula depends on the agreement. The approximate price is around 500 to 900 CZK for one trip. It can also happen that the driver just wants to talk to make the long journey run faster and you will then drive for free.

By bus

Long-distance buses are a cheap option. Most people travel overnight, so the journey is a bit more pleasant. Holiday long-distance buses offer a large selection of boarding stations (eg Tábor, Benešov,
Jihlava, etc.), but also exit points (eg Umag, Vrsar, Rabac). To give you an idea, a return ticket will cost you about CZK 2,200. The very popular and economical Flixbus also has its own line from Prague to Pula, but with a transfer either in Vienna, Bratislava or Zagreb. But even so, the journey takes 16 or 18 hours. Their prices start at CZK 1,800 for a return ticket.

By train

For some, it may be better to travel by train, where there is more space and it is possible to stretch. Cheap connections to Istria are offered by Regiojet from Prague to Rijeka, which we dealt with in detail HERE. Just change, for example, by bus to Umag or Pula. These connections are usually sold out a few weeks in advance. The price of a return train / bus connection from Prague / Brno to Umag / Pula with one transfer starts at about CZK 1,800. It is also possible to pay extra, for example, for a bed coupe, which starts at about 2,400 CZK per person. The journey takes about 17 hours, runs overnight and trains are highly comfortable with the possibility of purchasing snacks.

By plane

The fastest way is by plane. So far, only one direct flight flies from Prague to Zagreb. The price for a return ticket to Split, Zadar, Pula and Rijeka ranges from CZK 2,500. It is best to buy a ticket two months in advance, at which time they are usually the most advantageous. You can rent a car directly at the airport and be mobile throughout the holiday. You can make a reservation in advance online. Prices start at CZK 1,000 per day.
